History of Siliguri Siliguri was a tiny village which metamorphosed into one of the major commercial regions of West Bengal. It was a sub- division in Darjeeling district about 100 years back. The year 1907 was eventful as Siliguri was accorded the status of a sub-division by the Colonial rulers.
